Rules for Writing

Writing isn’t something I just do; not easily, anyway.  Not the way I just breathe or sleep.

Rather, there are certain “procedures” I must follow to lead a productive and (most importantly) sane writing life.

These are my Rules:

  • Rule #1: Rules are for chumps – not!  (Introductory post)
  • Rule #2: Inspiration’s got lousy timing (so be ready for it)
  • Rule #3.1: Call yourself a writer.  Period.
  • Rule #3.2: Put a number on it (your daily word count goal)
  • Rule #4: Ditch the internet while writing
  • [ongoing]
